Finnish songwriter EMMI IIDA launched her debut album, The Eye, on February 22, 2024 via EFG Records. The album follows the release of its singles ‘Blooming,’ ‘Energy Guru,’ ‘Trinity,’ and ‘Higher Self’. Co-written and produced by Jessica Sharman, mixed & mastered by Femke Weidema, EMMI is a multi-modal creative, known for her work in visual art and holistic interior architecture. She has garnered support from various publications and stations, including Wonderland Magazine, BBC 6, and MTV Finland, and is set to perform at Timeless Festival in Cape Town, South Africa, in April 2024.
The Eye is a 14-track exploration of EMMI IIDA‘s sonic universe, delving into themes of self-actualization, intimacy, cosmic meaning, love, empowerment, and spirituality. EMMI‘s rich lyrics come to life through her smooth, ethereal vocal delivery. The project, held together by crisp, reverberant, and genre-defying production, offers diverse moods and energies. From trippy chillhop in ‘Higher Self’ to sultry spoken-word in ‘Trinity’ and the avant-pop anthem ‘Our Love’ featuring Bryce Green, The Eye delivers a deeply spiritual sonic experience with meditative ease and powerful passion.
