We chatted to him about the music industry, his composing, and people that pay to listen to him…
Hi there, how are you and what are you up to today?
All good thanks, I’m in the studio finishing some new projects that will kick off my new sound signature!
To those not familiar with you, how would you describe your sound?
My sound is actually a fusion between Bass House and Trap music, but from my upcoming releases, you’ll hear a new signature sound with influences from Hip hop, Dubstep, Hard House and Future Bass. I’m always looking to make something fresh, trying to experiment as much as possible!
What are the 5 albums that have influenced you the most?
1. Michael Jackson – Thriller
2. 50 Cent – Get Rich or Die Tryin’
3. Eminem – The Marshall Mathers LP
4. Dr. Dre – 2001
5. Prince – Purple Rain
Which other artists are you into at the moment and why?
On the club side, I mainly like the style of Matroda, Brohug, Fabian Mazur, Zonderling or Dirtyphonics, but I listen a lot of tracks from Migos, Future, Travis Scott, Drake and many more because they always give me great inspiration!
Are there any key pieces of equipment that you are using to define your sound?
Nothing in particular, I’ve always used the same DAW (FL Studio) and I still think that the real key piece is your creativity!
What would you say some of the challenges artists face today in the music industry?
I’ve always loved this world, but I think it’s a tough one.
You have to arm yourself with patience and continue on your way!
Nowadays it’s easy to be noticed with internet and social networks, but at the same time you have a lot of competition and your goals are already forgotten the day after, because of the big amount of news circulating.
Where do you gather songwriting inspiration?
Simply listening everyday and everywhere to hours of music… It’s my drug!
Take us through your songwriting process. Are there any particular steps you take when putting your music together?
Usually when I get in the studio, I already have an idea in my head.
Anyway, I really love to start making fat beats around a cool vocal and from it I get inspiration for the rest!
What’s the best gig you have ever done and why?
It’s hard to say, but I guess maybe the first festival in my hometown: Rome, Italy.
There was more than 10.000 people under the stage and for me It was a dream to see a crowd like this in your city dancing to your music!
And the worst?
So far I’ve never found unpleasant situations and I’m happy about this!
If you weren’t a musician what would you be?
Nice question, I would have worked most probably in the fashion world…
Who knows, maybe one day I will create my own brand!
Do you have any particular gigs or festivals that you dream about playing?
Tomorrowland… It’s my goal since I started my career!
If you could perform alongside any other band or artist, living or dead, who would it be?
I would like to make a special dj set performing alongside a trap/pop artist like Travis Scott, Drake or Future. It would be lit!
Do you have any information regarding upcoming releases, projects or gigs in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
I recently released a track called ”JIGGLE” on Deorro’s label Panda Funk, which reached soon thousands of plays, gaining the support of big names from the EDM scene. It was also included into viral videos on YouTube counting millions of views. I have so many new solo and collab projects ready, but for now I can just say that this will be only the first of a long series of releases coming this year ! About my gigs, I’m planning with my management a tour including dates in India, Spain, Croatia, Italy and many more. All dates will be announced soon on my Facebook page!
