UK electronic producer See How returns with his new single ‘Kick It‘, out today, June 5, and announces his debut album Amusing Ourselves To Death, set for release on September 18. Spanning nine tracks, the album navigates the intricacies of contemporary life, technology, and the distractions that define the everyday. Building on support from outlets such as Undrtone, Wonderland, Flex, Notion, Mystic Sons, and Plastic Magazine for his previous single ‘My Religion‘, See How continues to carve out his place within the UK electronic scene.

‘Kick It’ lands as a 124 BPM single engineered for both radio and dancefloor, fusing layered samples, radiant synths, and fragmented vocal textures into an immersive sonic palette. Echoing the stylings of Jamie xx, Joy Anonymous, and Barry Can’t Swim, the track centers on a looping vocal refrain: ‘you know who you are / and you’ve come this far’, and channels a distinct summer flair. Amid a house landscape crowded with downtempo and bass-heavy releases, ‘Kick It’ distinguishes itself by threading UKG elements through its rhythmic core, giving the track a buoyant, infectious bounce.

This finds a natural, almost inevitable home in summer releases because its elastic, skippy rhythms mirror the season’s loose-limbed energy in a way straight four-to-the-floor rarely does. At peak festival season, think of open-air stages in Morden Park or Digbeth. It suits a particular crowd that’s grown allergic to both clinical tech-house minimalism and over-produced festival EDM: primarily Gen Z and younger millennial ravers who came of age during lockdowns and now crave communal, unironic joy on dancefloors.

Shifting away from the introspective lens of ‘My Religion‘, which explored belief systems molded by algorithms, ‘Kick It‘ embraces a more optimistic outlook. The track hints at breaking cycles of routine, digital immersion, and daily repetition, favoring introspective lyrics and a driving tempo over explicit narrative. Alongside its predecessor, this single sets the stage for Amusing Ourselves To Death, an album poised to move fluidly between introspection and euphoria.

See How had this to say: “I wanted this one to feel immediate. Less about explaining something, more about interrupting the loop, even briefly.”
