Multi-talented musician, STARLA has unveiled her mesmerising single ‘Waiting Room’ from her album Fun Tonight which was released on 24 August 2024. STARLA is the alter ego of American artist Stephanie Croff.
In the single, STARLA illustrates a fresh and uplifting perspective on the experience of waiting. So often in life we’re eagerly anticipating what’s next, trying to get to the next destination or season in our lives without appreciating where we are or what it took to get there. ‘Waiting Room’ is a heartwarming reminder to slow down, act with intention and be present, even if your current circumstances aren’t exactly what you envisioned. STARLA highlights the feelings of irritation, frustration and defeat often felt during these times, and gently shifts the narrative through her thought-provoking songwriting, coupled by the ethereal production.
STARLA shares; “It’s about finding joy in the present, even when you’re in the waiting room of life. The song never changes key because life sometimes feels like the same loop, but it’s up to you to make that loop fun. I love how it ends with a metronome click – it’s a reminder that every ending is a new beginning.”
‘Waiting Room’ is filled with hope, faith and gratitude with STARLA’s siren-like voice leading the way. The track begins with a punchy kick, her vocals following soon after, and progresses into a dreamy soundscape, featuring serene synths and impeccably layered harmonies transporting the listener to a meditative and high vibrational state.
