Copenhagen born Emma Acs is ready to return with a new EP “While I Shoot from My Fortress of Delusions” ‘Disarmed’ is the third single from her new EP “While I Shoot From My Fortress Of Delusions”. The EP is out on January 31st 2020.
‘Disarmed’ sees Emma exploring a colder sound influenced by electronic and hip hop music only warmed up by the acoustic guitar and distant strings. Out of all the tracks on the EP, ‘Disarmed’ feels like the most symptomatic of Emma’s departure from her original rock roots.

If someone has never heard your music, which keywords would you personally use to describe your overall sound and style?
my friend described my music as sprawling. I kind of liked that.
Tell us about yourself. How did you get into music?
I guess I always have done everything I could to escape real life, and music is a good way to escape the world even as an adult.
When you compose and produce tracks, do you make music for yourself or do you make it with others in mind?
The best songs I’ve written I wrote with someone in mind. Someone that I tried to tell something through what I composed.
What key pieces of gear/software are you using to define your sound?
I’m trying to avoid any software to define my sound. I sometimes feel like it sounds like everyone is using the same plugins and it bores me.
Has your arsenal of equipment changed much since you first started?
It changes all the time. At the moment I have an extremely minimalistic setup, but sometimes the more limited you are the more creative.
Three favorite tracks of all time?
David Bowie – ‘5 Years’, Elvis Presley – ‘Crying In The Chapel’, Jacques Brel – ‘Ne Me Quitte Pas’
What inspires you outside of music?
My surroundings. Right now I live in Los Angeles, I moved here because I always found it very inspiring here. Love inspires me, my friends inspire me, movies, art and literature.
What is the best or strangest reaction you’ve had to your music this far?
I love when people write to me that I must never quit making music. It makes me feel like it’s important, at least to some.
What, in your opinion would be the perfect genre fusion?
Free-jazz and Trap
Do you consider the Internet and social media as fundamental in building a career in music today, and what is your personal relationship with the new technology at hand?
Technology and social media are fun if you don’t put too much thought into it. I always enjoy being in touch with followers and as a true millennial, I kind of panic when my phone dies.
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects or releases in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
I have some new projects coming out in 2020 that I’m very excited to share with the world.
That and of course my EP that is coming out on the 31st of January 2020.
