EMMI IIDA is a multi-modal visual artist, holistic interior architect & musician who founded her own company (EFG Productions Oy) and record label (EFG Records Oy). Her music has received support from distinguished publications and stations such as NOTION, METAL Magazine, CLASH Magazine, Wonderland Magazine, NOCTIS Mag, Earmilk, BBC 6’s Craig Charles, RTÉ 2FM, as well as securing her an interview with MTV Finland.
‘Higher Self’ takes the listener on a meditative journey. Guided by EMMI IIDA’s sultry yet calming vocal, the song reflects on self-actualization and taking yourself to a higher place. Peachkit provides a slick yet ethereall rap verse that harmoniously blends the soothing power of meditation with the rhythmic flow of rap music all while inspiring the listener to reach their highest potential. The accompanying music video, shot in the hazy desert-scapes of Joshua Tree, California, beautifully brings this spacey track to life.
EMMI IIDA shared: “What if you keep worrying for your past, living in the past, wondering if there’s no point in life, only failure? What if nothing seems to make sense, just mistakes after mistakes? Your inner self, your higher self, comes to remind you that those experiences and so called failures are all moulding you, preparing you to be ready for the future you who you will become when you continue listening to your gut feelings, things that excite you, following in the path of your dreams. ‘Higher Self’ is about the connection with the divine, balancing the frequencies of our crown chakra, finding that oneness within.”
