Giora’s new single ‘POWER CANDY‘ is out now on their label Holypop. It’s the third single from their latest EP FREEWAY, which dropped on 1 May 2026. Giora grew up in North London and started with classical piano, voice, and theory before forming a band and writing original songs as a teenager. Later, they studied orchestral composition at Juilliard in New York, where they developed the electronic production skills behind their 2023 debut album It’s So Quiet But I Hear You, which received strong reviews. Since then, Giora has performed with artists like Isabella Lovestory, Varg, Babynymph, Elisabeth Elektra, Puce Mary, Kelora, and Felix Lee, earned praise from NOTION, CLASH, and Wonderland Magazine, and played at CREEPY TEEPEE Festival in the Czech Republic, KWIA in Berlin, and Bike Jesus in Prague.
London fans have seen Giora’s unique sound at venues like Gossamer Fog, Spanners, Niche, Pocket Radio, The Divine, and The Glory. Two of their sound installations have also been shown at Rich Mix and Stanley Arts. Giora curates the Holypop label and its live events, supporting queer experimental artists from the UK and Europe.
The song explores shifting power dynamics through a gothic love-song style, showing a softer and more vulnerable side of Giora’s music while keeping the emotional impact fans love. Giora’s vocals and lyrics are front and center, backed by bold synths, a breakbeat-inspired chorus, and a low electric guitar line. Giora wrote the track, produced and mixed it with Czech collaborator Oliver Torr (Sunnbrella, Palmistry, Evita Manji), and it was mastered by Canadian composer Zac Tiessen.
Giora said,“POWER CANDY’is an experimental pop track about the seductive and addictive nature of power and the role of power games in human dynamics, creating a metaphor between candy and power, enjoying domination whilst simultaneously granting it.”
