Dublin-based electro band Le Galaxie released their new single “Pleasure” today (21 April 2017).
This track is the lead single from their upcoming third album, and features vocals by MayKay, from the alt-rock band Fight Like Apes. Lyrically the song calls for a balance between pain and pleasure, which is reflected in the even tempo throughout the progression of the track.
The music video parallels the artsy feeling of the track, by featuring a couple who cover their bodies in paint, creating a kaleidoscope of colours with their bodies as the canvas. The vocal mix between MayKay and Le Galaxie’s frontman, Michael Pope, makes for a track that calms the listener, but also has a steady beat that you can move to.
The song is an earworm that will have you listening to it on repeat, whether it be played through earphones when you go for a run or through massive speakers at your favourite nightclub. The fact that Le Galaxie are an established outfit comes through in the high quality of the music they produce. With two successful studio albums and a popular EP, it is no surprise that they have done well at many music festivals, including SXSW and Lovebox.
