Lisbon Lux Records producer Das Mörtal has unleashed a new record titled ‘WASTED’. Coming in strong, a guttural synth bass stab opens the record. Shimmering arpeggiators ascend and descend, while punchy kick cut through the cinematic Synthwave chord progression.

Playing with a theme, the producer aimed to capture the experiences of apathy. “This track came about when I was trying to produce more music during the pandemic but, mentally being unable to sit in front of my workstation, thus feeling remorse for wasting valuable time.”

The song’s arrangement stands out, continually changing as the track progresses. There is a bit of everything: quick rolling percussion, intriguing patterns, beat changes, ‘80s-style vocals, and more. A sustained pad glues the piece together, only falling out of the production before the breakdown, where it is replaced by ominous chants and interesting textural bits.
