Syro gets Grammy nomination

Richard D. James, known as Aphex Twin since his distinctive three-armed logo began showing up in record bins two decades ago, released Syro this week after a prolonged break from recording.

Aphex Twin grabbed our attention when he flew a blimp over London to promote his new album ‘Syro.’ Now it seems he might grab a Grammy too!

Aphex Twin is one of many electronic artists who have been shortlisted for the new, ‘Best Dance Album’ category for the 57th Grammy awards next year. It seems that the awards ceremony is trying to redeem itself for its previous clumsy attempts at recognising the dance music scene, they caused embarrassment last time when they tried to “Tribute” EDM.

The new category highlights the successes of artists like Little Dragon, Aphex Twin, Disclosure and ZHU. The ceremony will kick of Feb 8th 2015!
